Q: What is the trail like?
A: Flat, paved and excellent for biking! It is part of the White Pine Rails to Trails system.

Q: Where do I go?
A: Our base will be North End Park – 17700 Trestle Bend Dr, Big Rapids, MI.

Q: When should I get there?
A:  Check-in begins at 8:30am.  Please arrive so you are checked in and ready to go by 9:00.   Check in will be at the north pavilions (the ones farthest from the playground). If you have any cash or checks that you have received, please turn them in at check-in so we can count those in your team totals.  Lunch will be provided for everyone when the events are complete – please plan on staying at the park even if you’re back early so we can thank you for your efforts in supporting His House!

50 Mile Riders – please note that Cycle the Campus 50 is different this year.  Our hopeful goal is for you to be able to complete the first lap, be back at home base for the group picture and then go out with the 25 mile riders for your second lap.  If you cannot keep this time pace, that is completely OK!   But, if the day of you do not feel that you can complete the 50 miles in under 5 hours, please let the check in volunteers know and they will move you to the 25 mile ride instead.  Your check in time is 7:00am.

If you cannot make the event for some reason, please be sure to let your campus minister/team know so they can communicate that to us.

Q: What do I need to bring?
A: If you’re riding-your bike and helmet are mandatory! Otherwise, wear appropriate clothing for the event, like good shoes, shorts, t-shirt, maybe a hat or sunglasses. You might want to bring sunscreen, and a rain jacket just in case. Another important thing to bring is any gifts you may have collected – clearly marked with the donor’s name and address, with your name on the envelope.

Q: What if I need help with my bike, or I end up with a flat tire?
A: We’ll have bike-savvy volunteers there to help! You’ll also be given a number to contact if you need any help along the way. Of course, if it is an emergency, call 911!

Q: What do I do with pledges or gifts I’ve collected again?
A: Please input them on our online form so we can track them as they come in. If you’ll be joining us on the day, then bring them with you, clearly marked with the donor’s name and address, with your name on the envelope. If you can’t join us on the day, turn them in to your team captain (aka your campus minister), or mail them to the His House Main Office at 1171 Trowbridge Rd., East Lansing, MI 48823. Again, make sure they’re clearly marked! If you’ve had anyone pledge to support your ride, we’ll follow up with them afterward, so please give us as much information as possible.

Q: Will there be any food?
A: Yes! We’ll have water, gatorade, and snacks to fuel you for the event. We’ll also have a light lunch, starting around 12:00 pm when you are done!
